Obama Student Loan Changes

But will his reforms help you?

In case you haven’t heard, President Obama is trying to reignite the conversation about how to reform federal student aid.

Recently the White House even announced major changes to the student loan program that could help students pay your federal debt back faster.

The inevitable critique of the plan is that it doesn’t address a huge number of students, like those who graduated in 2011 or earlier and have no intention of borrowing more money from the government.

Or students who’ve defaulted on their payments. And the biggest oversight? It doesn’t help those struggling to carry the burden of private student debt.
